Greg co-founded BattleBots with his cousin Trey Roski. For the past 20 years, they have shared the same passion: BattleBots.

John Remar met his best friend because they shared the same Learning Disability: Dyslexia. She has been competing in combat robotics for 15 years and works as a biomedical engineer, creating medical devices and implants.

Tombstone is my favorite BattleBot because he always wins.” ~Nathaniel (age 7)Īndrea Suarez is the builder and Team Leader of the BattleBot known as Witch Doctor. “The thing I like best about BattleBots is when they tear the other BattleBots apart. If I could build any kind of robot, I would build a robot that would help me do things.” ~Jaydin (age 9) “My favorite BattleBot is Chomp because it has a hammer and can smash other BattleBots. If I could design a BattleBot, it would have a spinner that would spin very fast.” ~Haiyvin (age 10) Time ran out and the judges awarded a unanimous victory for Triton, putting Category 5 in the loser's bracket.“My favorite BattleBot is Tombstone because it defeats other BattleBots and is very cool. As the match wore on, Category 5's weapon stopped spinning and both robots took hits from the arena hazards. Being inverted made it very difficult for it to drive as it was much more unbalanced. In response, Triton kept its configuration from the first match and was able to deflect hits from Category 5's spinning shell but were flipped over by the hellrasiers. This put them through the next round where they faced Andrea Suarez and Category 5.

After lots of pushing, Triton was able to get under Chunk and high-center them on the screws for an instant KO. Triton used its plow to render Chunk's weapon almost useless before trying to take advantage of Chunk using its wedge. Triton, whose team was mentored by fellow San Diego resident and Giant Nut winner Donald Hutson, first went against Chunk, a new bot from Team Coolrobots' Christian Carlberg. It was a two wheeled, invertable robot that had two interchangeable weapon configurations, a lifting fork, and a spinning drum in addition to a front plow. Triton was a Middleweight robot that competed in the 2009 BattleBots Collegiate Championship.
